Hello! Good day.

I want to inquire about nozzle pipe and flange material's compatibility with SA-517 Gr. B shell material.

Reference from ASME or any other relevant code would be much appreciated.

Wasil Ali, refer to ASME SEC II, Part D Table 1A. SA-517 B (plate) is 1/2 Cr-1/5 Mo-V. P 11B, Gr 4 and 115 ksi min tensile.

No exact match in forgings or pipe. Forging SA-182 F2, 1/2 CR-1/2 Mo, P 3 Gr 2, 70 ksi, and pipe SA-335 P2, 1/2 Cr-1/2 MoO, P3, Gr 1, 55 ksi may be usable.

You might be better off to select a different plate like SA-387 2.
