The contractor is proposing Carbon steel + FRP coating on the shaft for agitators to be used to prepare coagulant ( Ferric chloride + service water). Can anyone share their experience on this Material of construction proposed? I am concerned on the integrity of the FRP coating for the service.
The agitator speed would be around 65 to 75 rpm with hydrofoil blades/ turbine type of around 950 to 1000 mm dia
