I recently had a customer send certs back to me saying that ASME required tensile and yield strengths to be listed in Mpa. Our certs vary by manufacturer some use mpa, some use ksi , psi, etc. My questions are: Is this correct? Is this a new requirement? or Is it just easier for them to do calculations using mpa?

Thanks

ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and Standards do not mandate specific use of SI or US customary units. One only has to remain consistent in reporting, calculations and unit conversions (hard or soft).
