Dear all,
I am designing a Rotor Mechanism, In that i would like to calculate the Mass of the Rotating parts alone.First i assembled the Non rotating parts as Ground. Calculated the Mass_prop_1. Later i assembled the Rotating parts then calculated the Mass_Prop2.Actually the Mass_prop_2 is being at the end, its calculate the total mass. To get the Rotor (Rotating parts) mass i am subracting the Mass_prop_1 from Mass_prop_2.

Can anyone give me some idea how to calculate the Mass Properties of the selected parts alone in a Assembly.

Thanks in advance,

CADfan

You could create a simplified rep, where only the parts you want to measure are available.

Dear rebo2610

Thanks a lot for your help. I managed to calculate the
mass properties using the option in the Mechanism
Dynamics.

1.Application menu --> Mechanism
2.Define mass properties --> Reference type

I Chose "Body" in the Reference type and selected the
Rotating body (i.e The parts i want to calculate the Mass
properties)in the Mechanism Tree.

It gives Volume,Mass,Centre of Gravity,Mass moment of
Inertia.

I also try the method you mentioned.

Thanks,

CADfan
