I am having problems finding certain aluminum extrusions used in boat certain boat building applications. More specifically, at the moment, I am trying to find certain gunwale extrusions

Could these items be custom extrusions produced for a particular boat manufacturer? If so, the extrusions wouldn't be available except from that manufacturer.

Depending on how much you need, it is usually less than $1000 to get a custom die made. Usually the minimun extrusion shoot is 1000 lb.

We get our extrusions from Production Supply, New Orlean LA 504-254-0505 Carl. They are made by Tabor Metals, Gulfport MS.

That is most likely a proprietary extrusion for each company. The dies are fairly cheap, and your minimum run could be as low as 1000 lbs. as sreid pointed out. You can get a lot of info by calling supply house/distributors in your area and describing what you want. They will find all the close matches for you. If that doesn't work try these:
The Aluminum association, Alro Metals, Alcoa (try web searches).

Hope this helps...
