It's amazing how stable Solid Edge can run with my anti-virus disabled. Makes me wonder who is really the virus?

What do you mean by stable? Are you referring to crashing or freezing?

I do know that some of the install files get messed up if the A/V is on during install of SE or a service pack. You should temporarily disable your A/V during installation. I also know that performance is better if you don't scan SE files (but keep you A/V running).

I have never had a stability issue - crashing or freezing - by running an A/V software while working. Could you please elaborate?

Hi Scott,

It simply crashed, at least 2 to 4 times a day. Even if I exclude the the SE files from scanning. I know that there are many things that can influence stability.

The point I want to make is that it seems odd how everything seems the run faster and smoother without an anti-virus. Sometimes an anti-virus is just as irritating as a virus.
