Make link between SolidWorks and Excel

Hello

After drawing a piece of furniture in SolidWorks I always manually set up my bill of material (with measures: length, width and thinckness) in Excel. Because it takes a lot of time,I would like to generate an Excel file automatically from my drawing. Does anyone have experience with this problem?
