Hello

I am designing the hood and fenders for a race car. I made the shape in a part file not sheet metal file. A picture below shows my shape. I cant create the same bend around the front of the hood in a sheet metal file. How can I get this part to be flat?

Thanks

Open a new sheet metal file and import your part as a construction(you may have to reduce its outer size to match the material thickness you want). Make a contour flange (from the top view) and include geometry from your part. Then apply the cutouts to match your shape. Hide the construction and flatten your part.

Jaynen,

Depending on which version you use, you might be able to use the convert to sheet metal command.

I am using version 15. Is the convert to sheet metal command in this version?

Thanks for all the replies so far!

Not in the form you need.

Starting with v17 is the only time you can go from a .par to a .psm. Prior revisions, you must start with a .psm to go back and forth.
