Macerator pump installation

Good Day to All,

Can you help me please. I am looking for a macerator details to be used for lifting pump station. and how to install it. It should be close to the inlet pipe of the wet well. And to size it based on the peak flow. Thank you.

Eduardo: Nice to see you took my advice. While we don't do design here, let's hope some one will come on with help. /As i look at this, I'd go to a supplier of pumps for this job type. They may have enough information for you to get it done. I'd do a search on Google for sewage pumps and see what comes up.

Eduardo....another term you can use for your search is "grinder pump". There are numerous suppliers and as OG noted, that's a good place to start.

Grinder pumps are sized like any other pump. They are grinders only to accommodate superfluous solids that get into the system. They are not intended to grind or macerate all possibilities of solids that might occur. In order to accommodate that possibility, you might consider a comminutor on the inlet to the wet well. If you do that, you won't need the grinder pumps, though it would certainly be a good decision to provide them anyway.

While there are some applications that call for a macerating pump, these pumps have drawbacks and are not the first pump choice for owners.

Get a manufacturer's technical catalog on macerators as these catalogs will describe in details the construction of such pump and all the engineering information that's needed for proper performance.
