Did you check the list of certified workstations?
30 inch screen is a function of the graphics card. Check the list of supported graphics adaptors and their drivers.
I'm not impressed with the 30" Apple Cinema monitors. I considered buying one, but I did a little research into the quality and return rates, and didn't feel comfortable. Maybe in another year or two. They have (had) some quality control issues, and it can only be a matter of time before they get them worked out.
