LVGO become darker

Dear all,

Our LVGO became darker after a week rundown to storage tank. What is the solution to avoid discoloration problem? FYI, we use LVGO to blend into AGO instead of HVGO.

Check for

1)Higher than design/normal rundown temperatures to be avoided

2)Confirm any contaminants in the rundown circuitry (pipline& Heat exchange equipment)and eliminate if any?

3)Check for any cracked material's presence in this(LVGO) stream as higher temperature storage and contact with atmospheric air can result in oxidation/slow rate polymerisation and possible darkening of colour(due to so called 'ageing')

Possible remedial stratagies;if long term may involve blanketting with inert gas and cracked material genration root cause addressing.

FYI, the LVGO rundown temp is 50-70C. We have managed to inject antioxidant from several company product but it's still not show any improvement.As you mentioned of material presence in LVGO, what is the most critical of material concern in this stream. One of our vendor also advised us on this metal existence in LVGO stream. Metal existence is defined by type of crude. Have you face this experience before and how to control this situation?
