I have a hydraulic gate supported using Lubrite plain bearings.

Can anyone provide an approximate coef of friction? and an approximate distribution of the bearing force. I would assume this to be max at centreline and diminish to 0 at tangent. The load is approx 300,000 lbs.

This link should be close to what you looking for. I believe oil-lite and Lubrite are similar, but need to verify it with our mechanical engineers. If you need actual Lubrite vs Oil Lite I might be able to find something in our files.

Thanks very much... I was looking at using 0.10 and thought that might be a little high... The 40 year old keeper plates had been held in place with 1/2" dia A307 bolts and the forces I had calculated would easily have sheared them off and also yielded the keeper plate across the full bearing area.
