Low Voltage 555 Zetex zsct1555 1

If anyone has any experience with the Zetex zsct1555 timer chip, please let me know. I am having trouble getting it to oscillate properly. Please read thread titled "very low voltage multivibrator" Thanks for your help!

I think you sink so much current that at times the battery drops below the minimum of the 1555 and this causes the malfunction.

Thanks for your input, but I already have the data sheets and they don't provide me with enough info to solve my problem. I've even e-mailed their technical support with no return.

I wish I were drawing too much current, that would be easier to figure out. I've disconnected all the other circuitry from the supply and the 1555, with the same results.

I've even tried different values for the components(lower values for the capacitor and higher resistor values) with the same results. When I turn it on, the output stays low, and the voltage on the capacitor stays at around 1.1-1.2v with a supply voltage of 1.5v. I've replaced the 1555 with another one, with the same results.

Thanks uWaveFDL that is a good site to learn about the 555, unfortunately it may not solve my problem, but it did give me a few ideas on things to try. Thanks again for your help!

I think I have found it!

I tried the Texas instruments 551 cmos timer on 1.2v and it worked!
