Hello,

Can someone suggest me a good FEA software compatible with inventor at low cost. All the FEA softwares seem to be really expensive.

Thanks,

What do you consider low cost? expensive? What type of analysis do you want to do?

And, for $64000, what do you mean by compatible with Inventor? If you want to use Inventor for all preprocesing then you'd be better off asking on the Autocad forum, I guess.

Many programs can import dxf files, but that leaves you with a fair amount to do.

I wouldn't worry too much about these integrated FEAs, an uncorrelated FEA model is about as much use as scribbled equation on the back of a fag packet.

So the real question is, how can you import real world test results into whatever package so that you can get an idea of how good your model is? You won't be using a CAD package.

I work with a little module on inventor pro but I can't trust it. We are a small buisness so I don't have so much budget for that. But if I can find something interesting that can deal with assemblies, I would say that around 10000$ would be the top.

If you are just doing linear, static analysis, I think there are a variety of options for around $10k in the US. Algor ( should be able to get close to this cost. NEiNastran ( may be able to get there. I suspect COSMOS to be in the same ballpark. All of these have import/export capabilities using .IGS, .STL, or a variety of Inventor's export types.

I've also recently become aquainted with Roshaz (Roshaz), which has an integrated linear solver and several file export formats. It fits your budget and, depending on what you are trying to do exactly, may be a good fit for your needs.
