i removed a ground tank from our system and re routed the water. booster pump is working correctly and pressure tanks are holding pressure but i lost pressure to some of the residents. The tank constantly held 30 psi. do you think it was pressurized? is this possible? the tank was welded shut so it couldn't be disinfected or inspected this was the reason for taking it off line help!

Well it sounds like it, but very difficult to tell from the description alone.

Have you got a diagram / sketch / schematic?

If the tank was "welded shut" but you kept pumping water into it where di the air go? or what stopped the pressure from climbing?

How big was the tank?
What do you mean by a "ground tank"? = Was this thing buried?

Give us something to work with here....

thank you for responding ! this tank is approx. 12 ft in diameter and 24 ft long and sits horizontally above ground and was fed by two 40 ft standpipes right above it and was to be taken out of service upon installation of new well and new standpipes and was never disconnected so i disconnected it .i then rerouted the water around the tank and back into the booster pump.
the booster pump and pressure tanks were sat up to supply approx. 5 houses on top of the hill close to standpipes to provide adequate pressure but when i separated the above ground horizontal tank is when those homes suffered pressure loss. i have schematic but I'm not in my office
 
It is difficult to understand what is happening from your cryptic post.

If your pressure tank is only at 30 psi, the pressure at the resident's location is obviously less. If the residents are at higher elevation, the pressure will also be lower.

If you are supervised by a government agency, you may want to run this issue by the local agency contact.

 
Needs a schematic to figure this out, but sounds like you have a horizontal pressure vessel here, but where these standpipes and booster pump come into it plus the "pressure tanks" is obscure to say the least.

Needs said schematic with sizes, flows, pressure etc.

If the inlet to the booster pump is now less than 30 psi then the output will also reduce.

You can see this in front of you - we can't.
