Two questions in one concerning the same sheet metal part.

I have attached the part Im working with.. SE has told me it cannot loft this as a chain due to the fact that the lines arn't tangent (carpenter brought a mold in for us to cover, can't change it)

1. Ok, will not loft non tangent profile chains, is there a work around other than merging the flats in 2d and sending them to the table?

2. Assuming this is my only option, the front section I have lofted flattens ok, but I am unsure of how to get bend lines and marks to display in draft for the break operator. I have been through the help files and found something about using the Bending Method page to specify bend index marks.. not sure where this is.

it also says: Each bend is represented as a bend centerline in the 3D model and is displayed with the edge color and a centerline style. In Draft, these bend lines display as centerlines in the visible edge color.

not getting ANY lines displayed in Draft.

any help is greatly appreciated.

How have you flattened the model ?
I think you should use Applications > Flatten Model not Save As Flat
When you have flattened it, put the model back to the unflattened state - Applications > Design Model.
Then when you place the view you will have the option to use the designed or flattened.
The display of bend lines is controlled on the drawing view properties 'Annotation' tab.

Exactly that Beachcomber,

to take it one step further

Click an element in the drawing view. RMB select Properties, select the Annotation tab on the Drawing View Properties dialog.
Check box Show Bend Centerlines. (On the drawing view, displays bend centerlines in sheet metal parts)
Up Bend Centerline Style, sets the style for centerlines on bends in the up direction
Down Bend Centerline Style, sets the style for centerlines on bends in the down direction

I ended up combining the flattened pieces in Autocad and working out the brake locations with the brake operator.

Thanks for your help
