Locking a Custom Property or Locking Edit Sheet

Is there a way to protect a custom property from user edit, or prohibit the Edit Sheet from being launched? My drawing sheet format text attributes are mapped from the PLM but one field is linked to a SW property and pushed to the PLM. Users can override this value and I want to lock it down.

I imagine you can hide the value from view within a continous running macro, but I don't know how to lock the actual custom property itself.
