Lock Bar Pipe 1

We are providing an assessment of structural integrity of an aquaduct constructed in the 1920's of riveted steel pipe described as "lock bar pipe". Even our oldest old timers can not define or describe lock bar pipe. Can anyone provide?

While I suspect you may have already answered your question I noticed this was still unanswered on the forum. I think "Lock-Bar" pipe was described in the old 3rd edition AWWA Manual M11 (I think version dated ~1989 and probably earlier editions). This type of pipe, reportedly joined in halves with formed edges and h-bars at the two seams, apparently supplanted riveted pipe in many areas in the period from 1905-1930's (when apparently welded constructions became prevalent).
