We recently purchase a S601-07 utility tank, the installation guidelines that came with the tank suggest to refer to all applicable and local codes. Following guidelines from FM 7-88, they use other standards and do not mention the equivalence of ULC S601-07. Is the only way to find out the guidelines for the correct location of the tank is buying the S-601-07 standard book? I am very unfamiliar with all the standard and codes use in the industry.
thank you

I would anticipate that stuff like that would be covered in either a mechanical code, fire code, or building code. Here in my area, the local libraries usually have reference copies of the codes used in that city, and you might check them. I'm not familiar with the specifics of the tank or codes you mentioned, though.

Is the tank UL listed? This sounds like a shop fabricated tank.

Yes it is a prefabricate tank. ULC in Canada is the equivalence of UL in the United State. And I think that is the problem as FM 7-88 uses UL reference.
I will check the library to see if they have the National Code for Fire prevention.
Thank you :)

Each Canadian providence has its own fire code. And all of them adopt NFPA 30.
