Dear Friends

I am attaching a drawing, which has BLACK trangles in circle. some are 1/8 (SN 1 & 2), some are 1/4 ((SN 3 & 4), ), some 1/8 with a line in it ((SN 5 & 6). Any body can explain what is the meaning of this symbol. Is it location pin symbol?

I can not see the whole print, but it looks like they just used those triangles to mark the holes having the same dim..That is why one "note" is sufficient.

Some people do that just to ID holes that are the same.

I don't think it is "legal" to any standard.

They are called "part reference zero" or PRZ. I use them to tell the machinist my reference tandem for that view. They're used as a particular view origin and dimensional reference. It 's for machining purposes.
