Hello All,

I am trying to find out where in a Boeing 737 fuselage do they use Hi-Lok Fasteners. From some research, I found out that they use them in engine nacelles and rudders but I need to know in what part of the fuselage are they widely used.

Please help.

Thanks in advance,
Chandresh.

i would expect to see them on the spar frames (attaching the wing to the fuselage), on the empennage attach fttgs, and scattered about the place ...

Zinzu,

The 737 fuselage structure uses lots of hi-loks for installation level shear attachments in frames, intecostals, floor beams, door frames, etc. These shear hi-loks are commonly titanium pins with aluminum collars, which gives the best balance of strength, cost and weight. The primary consideration with using hi-loks is adequate access for the collar installation tool.

Hope that helps.
Terry
