What may be the reasons of the shift of readings in a weigh scale application? Evaluate the question from the developer's perspective also not only from the user's. Assume that there is no load on the loadcell and as time passes your readings change slightly. What are the reasons? One thing is the electronic circuit's temperature depandance i think which is also valid for the loadcell. What may be the other reasons? Any are there any compensation technique? Thanks.

The bond between the strain gauge and the member alters with age.

The strain gages are inevitably bonded to some material with different thermal characteristics, and the thermal differences may, or may not, be compensated for.

Check also that the vessel is mechanically isolated and that it is not stresses from connected piping or whatever.
