Load interpart data

I've been working with NX for years, and there's one setting in the loading options that still confuses me: the combination of "Load Interpart Data" with "Partially Load."

My expectation is that this would fully load all components that have links between them, and only partially load those that aren't linked to any other parts. But in practice, it doesn't seem to work that way.

So, to make sure all links are properly updated, I always end up using "Fully Load."

Can someone explain how this option actually works? And what are the differences between the three Interpart Data options:

  • None
  • Immediate Level
  • All Levels
Thanks a lot!

According to me ( ... ) the load interpart data means "load whats needed for the link" but not more than neccessary.
Immediate level = first levels components but stop there.
All levels ="follow a possible chain of links to the end"
