I have to select the correct chain used between each roller of a live roller chain conveyor (that is that there is a loop of chain between each roller).

Should I divide my load by the number of roller since basically, the motor will rotate only one roller?

Hope my question is clear enough.

Thank you beforehand.

Your first roller will have to transmit power to the rest of the rollers through double-single sprockets (or equivalent) so the chain tension will diminish in the upstream direction from roller to roller. Thus you need to size the chain to carry the full load, each roller shaft will only need to handle torque for (1) roller though. You can get CEMA STANDARD No. 404, "CHAIN DRIVEN LIVE ROLLER CONVEYORS" at:

Don't forget about tensioning the chains also. I haven't used them but the Roll-Ring tensioners look like an easy way to tension chains on live roller conveyors.
