Could any body refer some good literature for jacketed pressure vessels containing liquid oxygen at -196C at 10 barg as a design pressure.
I am looking literature on fabrication, welding, material selections, electrodes and wires selection especially.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Fizza. If you're only looking for fabrication, welding, materia selection, etc... then the BPV is the best place to look. ASME covers all the structural concerns. If you are not in the US, I would assume your own country's equivalent codes would work, but if not, ASME BPV codes will serve as a reference for you at the very least.

As iainuts mentioned, ASME BPV codes may cover the design. The inner shell may be 304/316 SS while the outer shell may be CS with impact test. The impact tests of CS on WPS/PQR may be the critical factor.

In addition, the most critical issue will be vacuum condition including the dew point control in the vacuum chamber. The procedure is not covering in ASME BPV codes, but the manufacturer’s and/or end user’s standard.

EN 13458-2:2002 Cryogenic vessels - Static Vacuum Insulated Vessels. Design, Fabrication, inspection and testing. Stainless Steel. Includes pressure stengthenign appendix.

Doesn't go into metallurgy but good for design.

Anyone know of any good advanced matallurgy books on cryogenic pressure vessels made from aluminium and stainless steel?
