Anyone had any experience with attempting to remove Antimony (Sb-125) from water?

as to the first question, no we do not have experience of removing antimony. but reverse osmosis has been used for the process of removing cesium for low level waste streams. since both cesium and antimony have high atomic nos, it is possible that reverse osmosis technology may be an option. another is ion exchange, but u would have to find out resins that take up antimony.

Ammonia form anion resin is probably your best bet for antimony removal. We use it quite succesfully. If you change to a high Boron concentration process stream it may tend to sluff (lose) some on the antimony into the waste stream. 3M is working on some Ion Specific filtration paper for use in cartridge filter. It is still in its infancy however. Where are you using this at?
