Does there exist a way to select and delete lines that are on top of each other with out manually checking each one?

Not that I know of.
Can you give us a example of where and why you have lines on top of each other, and how many - it's not really something I ever have a problem with in SE.

Hi BC
I am importing 2d files from another program. The extra lines are there already before the import IE it's not the falt of the program. What I did was select the top lines and move the object. The unwanted lines stayed behind. A bit of work but for now I'll have to live with it.
I really like the program.
Thanks
Chuck
PS Your handle makes me think you're a Canadian.

Hi Chip,
Not that its much use but Microstation used to have a command called deldup.exe
Running this removed duplicate lines as you want to do.
I'm English - the handle is a bit of a play on my name.
My brother used it many years ago in the days of CB radio.

I'm going to check that out it sounds like a useful command for cleaning up lines drawings.

I was a HAM radio operator before internet. "TG9 IST" was my call sign.

Thanks again.

The program would only work with Microstation files.
It was there for tidying up 2D generated from 3D models because Microstation converted every edge into a line.
There is no equivalent in SE because the system does it for you.
I don't know if there are any 3rd party programs that clean up overlapping lines.
A quick Google for deldup brings up some LSP routines for AutoCad to delete duplicate objects.
It really depends on where the data came from, in what format and if you have AutoCad.
