I need help sizing a motor for a linear electric ball screw actuator. The actuator had a meter of travel, mounted to the floor, pushing a load of 500 lb, and capable of maximum acceleration of 14.7 m/s^2. Can anyone help me size a motor for this? This is my first time sizing an actuator motor. Thanks!!!

Motor to be sized for Peak Torque requirements.
Peak Torque = torque to accelerate the rotational & translational inertias + torque for friction, gravity effects, safety factors, fudge factors, dirt in the bearings, etc.
Essential equation is Torque = (Mass Moment of Inertia J) x (angular acceleration required α)
α ≈ Δ(angular velocity) / Δ(time required to accelerate).
You'll have a gear ratio based on pitch of screw.

There was a time when ball screw manufacturers issued engineering guides showing how to do this, maybe they still do. You can also search for Smart Motion Cheat Sheet in PDF which is a nice summary of motion calculations.
