limiting motion in assemblies, string/cable linkage

I am trying to model three legs pivoting around a common hinge point, with the motion limited by strings/cables. Any ideas how to set the constraints or is there a string element?

I assume this is something like a tripod? Try contact sets....but I'm not sure that will work. How do you model the strings or cables?

When you make the constraints enter how far apart you want the 2 selected features stay or give the legs a given degree of freedom to rotate.

Can you post a screenshot or zip the model and post it here? I'd be more than glad to help if I can...
