I'm trying to determine which expanded foil (aluminum or copper) to use for lightning protection of the fuselage and wing of a business jet. I already followed SAE recommendations to establish the lightning zones and read through the lightning environment SAE document, which confused me even more. Does anyone know of a rule of thumb or quick way to establish what thickness of expanded foil to use in each lightning zone for direct effects? Thanks!
