is there a minimum inventory for the standalone tank to install the Lightning protection system, ex. if we have stand-alone storage tanks with 1000 bbl crude oil, should we install a Lightning protection system?

Why would you not install lighting protection?

Inventory is irrelevant.

Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

There are no "mandated" requirements for lightning protection. However, for your tank installation a hazard analysis should be conducted. Where the analysis indicates that lightning would be a potential ignition source then system should be installed.

What did your insurance company tell you ? ..... What ? .... No insurance ?
