Light frame timber shear walls

Would some one please clarify if self weight of a light framed shear walls parallel to the direction of sesimic analysis located on the 2nd story is included in the seismic load or not?

They are included in their own shear, but do not add to the mass participation in other shear walls. The load path is from the shearwall itself down to the foundation. That is the direct, most stiff, path.
