I am trying to find screening options for a lift station. The client wants a simple debris basket that can capture 0.25" debris. Issue is the inlet flow is 1800GPM from a 6" pipe. Does anyone have any experience designing something simple like this for a lift station? This seems to me as a very impractical solution so I'm also looking into other solutions such as upstream screening or possibly an inline basket filter downstream of the lift station. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

20 fps? isnt that a bit high for your lift station inlet?
if you have a wet well than why not use a bar screen?

Are you suggesting an upstream bar screen?

And yes, it is high but will only run that during the plants washdown cycle. The rest of the day will be a relatively low flow.

It is not practical to force 1800 gpm through a 6-Inch pipe.

It is not practical to screen to 1/2-Inch size for a seldom used lift station. You would probably need a mechanical screen.

What is the source of the solids? The size of the solids? The concentration? Why do you want to screen the solids out?
