I have a stair tower that dumps into a 2hr rated corridor that leads to the outside of the building for secondary egress. I was told you cant have other doors leading into that corridor. I don't see why not. Its like an egress corridor for a bunch of school classrooms. Any thoughts or examples from chapter 10 (florida building code)

Which edition of the IBC? Occupancy of upper floors? Occupancy of the rooms that will discharge into the 2-hour rated corridor? Sprinklered per NFPA 13? Is this a high-rise?

With that said, if the width of the corridor is capable of serving the occupant load from the upper floors - and - the occupant load of the rooms, it shouldn't be a problem.

Sounds like you either have an exit passageway

Check section 1024.5 openings

And specifically 1024

Or

Check maybe

Stair

1023.4 openings

Not sure if those match up the code you are looking at.

What doors do you want to add?? As in what will be behind them???
