We are looking into trying the new functionality of License Borrowing for Wildfire 2.0 Can anyone share their experiences with it good or bad. Is it easy to use, does it work well, etc?

Hi Andy!

There are caveats. I will get you more information about it tomorrow.

Hello Andy,

You should have a server where you have to install Flex lm with the license generated for this server. Afterwards you have to install ProE W2. If you have the license generated for server you have the possibilities to share. Install ProE W2 on another machine installed in network and when you are asked about the license, put the server name directly and you can see if the license is accepted.

Have a nice day,

I have been borrowing licenses for about a month now. It works well

Here is how we do it.

In your .../bin directory where you start Wildfire there should be a batch file called proe_borrow.bat.

Just run it. It will ask you how many days you want to check the
license out for. Wildfire will then start, just exit. Now you should be
ready to work remotely.

I was told by the sys admin that the new flex lm license needed to be
installed before we could check out licenses. Also one
thing we have found is that you cannot check a license back
in.

We are running build M080
