I am trying to set up leak test for company's parts.
Setup is: Compressed air regulated out at 90 psi - goes into regulator - from regulator air goes to the pressure gauge (Calibrated) - into Flow meter (Need to buy and suggestions welcome) - air comes out into the part which is a cylinder.
I am new to this and i am learning as i go with the project.
what we have to test is the following:
(((Allowable leakage is .018 CFM per inch diameter per 1foot lenght at a proof pressure.
Proof pressure 10.28 IN H20 (.3 psig) at 179F and 14.12 In H20 (.5) at ambient temp.
also few more addons
short time operating temp 250 for 90 seconds
operating pressure 0-5 inH20 (.2psi) at 179F)))[/b]
How would i do this is input air in part for 90 seconds at .2 psi?
Flow meter will tell me cfm?
and how will go proceed with calculations to see what is the leakage?
Thank you so much please let me know if i missed something and if you need more info.
It is a simple standard test as i was told but doesnt look to me that simple
Thank you guys.
(Also i will make sure there is no leakage anywhere) I will be working with air and at room temp.
Part that is leak tested dimensions ( 6" diameter and 20 inches long) material al.
