Structural

Hi all,
Can some one tell me what kind of lateral load combination should I use for analyzing a structure subjected to transportation and handling loads. The structure is a skid which will be installed in a chemical processing plant. It will be built , assembled off site and transported to it final location in the plant. I saw in a sample calculation that they used the following combinations for lifting and handling loads respectively,

a. for lifting load
2g vertical

b. and for transportation loads

1. 1.5g lateral + 1g vertical,
2. 2.5g vertical load and
3. 1.0g lateral + 1g vertical.

this example does not cite from where these load combinations were obtained. Are these the right combinations or are there any other combinations ?

Thanks

it's too high.

it's even higher than our shipping condition which is shipping of equipment support modules/structure at sea.

although equipment itself including skid is scope of our mechanical department not structural so they may have different criteria.

i may look at mech specs if i have time out of curiosity.

What is the value of the equipment and are there any compents that have stability requirements (level, bending, impact)?
