Lateral Loads - Storage Bins

In storage bins for round steel pipe, rods, etc., the stored material imposes a lateral force to the side walls of the bin. The basic method for calculating this lateral force is to lay out the pipe stacking arrangement, determine the angle between the pipe centroid and contact point, and then calculate the horizontal component of the resultant force. However, this process must be repeated for every different diameter of pipe or rod. Are there design guides or standards available to simplify this task?
