Hi Fellow members,
On a other forum I have opened a thread because I wanted to know what the tolerances are according to TEMA standards. When answered I immediately got a new question, as below:
As producer of Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers we currently drill the tubeholes in the baffles. Currently we are investigating the possibilities to get these plates including tube holes lasercutted. The following is mentioned in the TEMA standards "burrs shall be removed and the tube holes given a workmanlike finish and The hole tolerance is 0 to +0.3mm." in relation with tolerances.
Does somebody already has some expierence with lasercutting of these baffle plates in relation with piercing, drag, maximum thickness and possible initial cuts. I have notices that competitors use lascutting for this aplication and we don't want to fall beyond.
All information helps!
Thanks in advance,
Weldfan.
