Hello,

I'm working on a sign structure near the ocean and wanted to see what type and specification of anchor rods would be recommended in the 2" diameter range.

Will the #18J A615-75 galvanized work in this environment or is there a stainless steel option at that diameter that would be better?

Thank you in advance for your input.

Are you using concrete reinforcing bar as an anchor bolt or some other function where it will be exposed to marine air? If only as rebar, one key to long life is the concrete cover over the rebar. You might need 3" of cover, especially if the foundation is into the water table and you could use bare rebar. Galvanized anchor bolts are routinely used in coastal locations. Fusion bonded epoxy coated rebar has also been used in coastal applications.
