A client has inquired about flexible wall hydraulic conductivity testing (ASTM D5084) of an in-situ sample possibly contaminated with diesel fuels. I have heard about a device, possibly called a bellaphragm (sp?), that would allow monitoring of the outflow from the sample without contaminating our permeability board. I believe it uses a water filled membrane within some sort of perm. cell. ASTM didn't address the issue that I can find, are there additional issues that need to be thought about besides board contamination? Where might I purchase the equipment I need?
