Hi,

We would like to add visual labels to our 3d-model in NX 7.5/8. So far we found the possibility to use PMI and visual reporting. We find the PMI too plain, and the visual reporting tags nice. But we don’t own the visual reporting license. We do have the license for Check Mate that can also show tags on the drawing. It seems that the icons are not changeable.

Are there other possibilities we haven’t found yet?

Is there any chance to access the program code with NX Open, to create these symbols, access them and interact with them? We want to change the symbol and the text shown with Check Mate for example.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hannes

In NX 8.0, at least when creating/editing the format for a Visual Report, you now have the option to define the images used for the Tags as well as the ability to add an additional message. This capability was not available in NX 7.5.

Thanks for your answer. We own NX 8 now, but we still don’t have the license for visual reporting, so we can’t create a Visual Report. We don’t want to use the actual reporting ability. We just want to add a 3D label (e.g. from Check Mate) to the model and interact with it using the API.

Can you tell us if and how we can create/reach/interact with the label in the API?

Thanks again.
