Hi,

Currently I am using PCB ICP accelerometers. Our data-acquisition and signal conditioning system is a daq/wave book of Iotech. We are looking to buy some extra general purpose transducers; I will meet with a sales-person of Kyowa (electronic instruments) shortly, and I want to know if anybody has experiencie (good or bad) with their transducers.
Also their transducers are strain gages; we use piezo. Is there one type that is better?
thnx
Wim

Hard to say which is better suited without knowing the application. Strain gages have low sensitivity and low frequency response compared to piezoelectric. I've seen that most strain gage applications are being replaced with piezoresistive accelerometers or variable capacitance acceleration sensors.

Since your data aquisition is compatible with ICP Accels, you might want to stay with that. STI makes a very cost effective model with integral cable.
