Hello all,

I am a Solidege user currently dealing with a vendor that use Ideas and we need them to send us a large assembly. They have already sent us a copy using the JT format. The files have been "dumbed down" to much and the only thing we can do with the file is open the 3D model. We can not create drawing or modify the file in any way.

Would it be possible for someone to to give me a screen shot of the options available when creating a JT file using Ideas? This way I can maybe specify to them what options to check off when creating their files.

Thank you,
Kevin

If you are wanting to make drawings you will need to have the BREP of the solid model. STP Parasolid or what not. JT is a facet type model similar sort of to STL. JT is only used for quick viewing and speeding up the assembly. (lightwieght) You will have to specify what parts in your assembly you need precise and what parts you only need to view. There is a way to store the precise info in the JT but I do not know if works across the platforms. IS there a way in Solidedge to make the JT file a precise not just lightweight?

Anyway Please see attached JPEGS for your screen shots.

Thanks

Sdeters
