I understand that changing layers is a simple enough thing to do as it is, but this is a weird circumstance.
Recently we have updated from NX1872 to NX1969. Since the update, when I am in modeling and I use Visible in View to turn a layer on or off, I suddenly will not be able to select anything in the window. It acts like all layers have been set to visible only. I have tried "Regenerate Work" but it does not fix it.
The two ways we have found to fix this issue each time, which is quite often, is to...
1) Switch to Drafting and back to Modeling.
or
2) Turn on layer settings, change your work layer to a different layer, and then change it back.
It is possible that using Flattening and Forming can cause this issue as well. Someone has told me it has, but I have yet to test it out.
Either way, this happens several times a day to me. It is annoying to always have to open layer settings, change the layer. Change it back again and finally go back to work.
I was thinking if I could get a journal that would automatically open layer settings, take note of the current layer, change the layer to say 255, then switch it back to the original layer again, that it would at least make this a one button fix until we figure out how to fix the issue for good.
I would record a journal or macro to do it, but I have no idea how to get it to return to the original layer, as we are constantly having to change our work layers anywhere from 20 up to 254 for this particular job. It is important that it returns us to the same original layer we are on when the journal begins, otherwise it will save us no time.
If anyone has any ideas as to how to fix this issue, that would be helpful too. lol

My brain is like a sponge. A sopping wet sponge. When I use it, I seem to lose more than I soak in.
