Hi There,

I am trying to join reaches for a flood model. I created geometry in ARC-GIS then imported it into HEC-RAS. The reaches are all part of the same watershed and I need to join them for the flood model. When i try to join them, HEC RAS asks me to split the reaches then create a junction. I do not want to split the reached any further, I would just like the model to regonise that the rivers are joined. When i have looked at other help on lines, they only join reaches where the reaches are joining from the end of one to the start of the other. As you can see from the picture I have uploaded, I am trying to join my reaches from the start or end of one, to the other reach at some point along the reach. I'm really at a loss about how to do this, ideally I would like to do as other instructions have said and use the move object tool in HEC RAS to join the rivers but Im not sure if this is an option given my geometry as it doesnt seem to be.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Louise

I ran into something similar but with INROADS rather than GIS. I had to export and import the RAS reaches (main & Trib) separately and yes, split at the correct location and create a junction. Worked fine after that. Good Luck!
