Have any of you electrical power engineering types ever attended a Jim Phillips power systems training class before? He normally teaches Arc Flash and has a few DVDs on protection & coordination I own. These DVDs taught me a great deal. I am thinking of paying $750 to attend his 2-day medium voltage power systems class and hoping his training sessions are in-depth and cover a lot of material to make it worth the out of pocket cost. Thanks for any comments!

I took his arc flash training class and was very impressed. Thorough and detailed, yet it moved at a quick pace and covered a lot of technical information. I also liked Jim personally. Based upon my experience with this class, I would not hesitate to take his other offerings.

Thanks Noway2, I appreciate the response.

I was worried that the coverage of topics would be too superficial given it is only two days as opposed to 5 days. But I figure if his 3 hr DVD on protection and coordination of relays, breakers, and fuses for motors and transformers could teach me so much, then 16 hours (2 days) of training would do even more. Jim makes very practical what I learned (or did not learn) in university power systems classes.
