I'm not sure if this is appropriate for this forum but it sure is an impressive set of photos of a refinery under construction:

"Reliance Industries plans to complete its ambitious $5.7
billion expansion of Jamnagar Refinery Project under Special Economic
Zone by March 2008 to emerge as the world's largest single-location
refinery."

Try counting all the tower cranes in some of the pictures and imagine how many miles of piping will be run. Wow.

Here's an aerial view from Google Earth:

And here's the Google Earth KMZ file for those who want to "fly" there:

Impressive! Forgive my ignorance, where exactly is this? Where are most of the components being manufactured?

What Pressure Vessel application software was use for Code Calculation?
What CODE was use for Pressure Vessel Calculation?

WOW!!
What a great project.

I would have liked to have been a part of that project.

Do you also have any pictures with the piping installed?

Sometimes people send me cool stuff like this. If more photos come in of the refinery in progress I'll try to remember to put a link here.

Like you and I said, wow. This is a scale of construction that can't happen in North America anymore (maybe Alberta oilsands excepted).

Imagining 36"x60" drafting tables @ 1:32 scale this project is huge (some people measure project size in megabytes, megadollars or Libraries of Congresses these days).

I'm curious as to some of the stats of this refinery. What is its nameplate capacity? What units are included? Also, I'd love to "fly through" the refinery, but don't know how to use a Google KMZ file to do so. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Doug
