Issues with Boss extrude

Hey everyone, Im trying to make a simple small scale architectural model but am running into problems when trying to boss extrude from the floor plan I drew up in 2D.

It keeps extruding a perimeter around the selected area instead of the selected area itself! and its driving me nuts.....

hi, plea first of all check it out that the region you are selecting is closed and next the thickness is not checked..... you can send me you solid part to help you if you like...

check out your sketch is closed and thickness option in left panel is not checked (active)
