Hello,

We faced operating problems with the electrical regenerant superheater, this heater is located at ground level as is the regenerant vaporizer (which is upstream the electricalk heater). The electrical heater is at the beginning of the regenaration cycle full with liquid and should be only with vapors.
Did someone encountered similar problems and more important how was it solved.

regards,
roker

roker,

I only have limited experience with Penex units. Thus, I assume the heater is full of liquid left over from the cooling cycle.

I would then assume the heating cycle have to clear the liquid out first and establish a level in the vaporized before switching on the electric heater.

If all else fails, you can ask the licensor (UOP) or change everything so that the cooling cycle (liquid) does not go through the electric heater.
